Dr. Daniel Markwalder, Veterinarian (Dr. Dan)

Dr. Dan is a graduate of Purdue University, School of Veterinary Medicine. He established the Animal Care Clinic (then located in the River Pointe Plaza in the Jewel Shopping Center in Algonquin) in March 1994. In September 1998, a new state-of-the-art clinic was opened on Stonegate Road in Algonquin to continue to meet our goal of "Caring for Pets and their People." In 2005, Dr. Dan opened the South Elgin location to continue to provide our clients with outstanding veterinary care and service. In 2006, Dr. Dan opened Barrington Square Animal Hospital in Hoffman Estates He attends over 80 hours of continuing education each year and his interests include internal medicine and general soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Sharon Payne, Veterinarian (Dr. Sharon)

Dr. Sharon Payne is a graduate of the University of Illinois. She worked at Care Animal Hospital in Arlington Heights before joining the Animal Care Clinic staff in 1997. Her special interest is in Feline Medicine. Dr Sharon and her husband Scott share their home with three cats named Mojo, Lizie and Maximus.

Dr. Adam Conroy, Veterinarian (Dr. Adam)

Dr. Adam, a partner of Animal Care Clinic, is a graduate of the University Of Illinois where he completed both his undergraduate and veterinary education. His special interests include both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and he continues his education by participating in several orthopedic seminars. He is the proud father of Landon and the owner Fletcher a Labrador retriever.

Dr. Paul Bierlein, Veterinarian (Dr. Paul)

Dr. Paul is a graduate of Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation he moved to Illinois and practiced in Arlington Heights with Dr. Sharon at Care Animal Hospital, then practiced in Fox Lake at Fox Lake Animal Hospital. Dr. Paul joined the ACC staff in August of 2005. He and his wife Sue are the proud parents of Michaela and Drew. They share their home with a dog, cat, and fish. His special interests include soft tissue surgery and orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Shalini Emmanuel, Veterinarian (Dr. Shalini)

Dr. Shalini is a graduate of the Royal Veterinary School in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1995 and worked in rural England for 5 years before moving to the USA. Dr. Shalini joined Animal Care Clinic in May 2006. She and her husband, Ash, share their home with twins Naomi and Will, a grumpy Border collie mix named Sherman and a bouncy Boxer mix named Millie. She enjoys being able to provide veterinary care and advice in all areas to improve her patient’s well-being and quality of life. Her special interests include Ultrasonography.

Dr. Liz Orsi, Veterinarian (Dr. Liz)

Dr. Liz is a graduate of the University Of Illinois. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery and oncology (treatment of cancer). Dr. Liz’s outside interests include running in marathons. She has a cat named Jackson and an adorable Terrier mix named Max.

Dr. Christine Wilmes, Veterinarian (Dr. Christine)

Dr. Christine is a graduate of the University Of Illinois. After graduation, she worked in Niles Illinois with creatures of all species including birds, small mammals, reptiles and some wildlife and she hopes to continue working with these special creatures throughout her career. She shares her home with her dog Koda and they both support Chicago's favorite teams: the Cubs and the Bears, as well as their southern cousins, the Fighting Illini.

Dr. Karen Hoersch, Veterinarian (Dr. Karen)

Dr. Karen is a Graduate of the University Of Wisconsin School Of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked in multiple small animal and emergency clinics in Wisconsin before her family moved to the Chicago area. Dr. Karen enjoys internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and client education. She has three children, a cat named Pumpkin and a Polish Lowland Sheepdog puppy at home.

Dr Ethan Mosley, Veterinarian (Dr. Ethan)

Dr. Ethan is a graduate of Michigan State University. He practiced in Michigan for a year, then moved his family to the Chicago area and practiced in Elmhurst for a couple years before joining Animal Care Clinic. In addition to two kids, Dr. Ethan and his wife share their home with a dog, a cat, and a rabbit. Besides an interest in general medicine and surgery, Dr. Ethan has a particular interest in ophthalmology and pocket pets.

Dr. Scott Jarrett, Veterinarian (Dr. Scott)

Dr. Scott is a graduate of the University of Georgia class of 2001 where he completed both his undergraduate and veterinary education. His special interest includes soft tissue surgery and working with both the clients and their pets. He and his wife Sara are the proud parents of Elizabeth and William. They share their home with Early the lab and two cats, Rocco and Vinnie.

Dr. Sue Shipley, Veterinarian (Dr. Sue)

Dr. Sue is a 2006 Ross University School Of Veterinary Medicine graduate. She lives with her husband Jim, their 3 dogs: Lou a Coconut retriever from St. Kitts, George an American Eskimo-terrier cross, and Spike a Chihuahua. Also in the household are a herd of cats and a Guinea Pig named Jerry. Her passion in veterinary medicine is dentistry.

Dr. Jen Lancater

Dr. Jen is a graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, class of 2006, where she also completed her undergraduate studies. One of her favorite parts of veterinary medicine is educating owners so that they can take the best possible care of their pets. She and her husband, Bill, have two beautiful daughters, Kaitlyn and Kyra. Her pets include a happy-go-lucky Labrador, Lando and a sassy gray cat named Jango.

Dr Julie Wheelock, Veterinarian (Dr Julie)

Dr. Julie received her Bachelor's degree at Trinity College in 1993. She then became a graduate of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University in 1997. She is originally from the Chicago area, and joined the Animal Care Clinic staff in 2008. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and her special interest is internal medicine. She and her husband Jason have two children, Susan and Dylan. They share their home with a boxer named Lucy Belle, three cats named Casey, Amos and Tyson, and a lovebird named Caesar.
